Default Antenna Cable at radio broke...

Ok, a couple hour project to replace speakers now has my 88 Cab sidelined while I fix my errors. Things started out smoothly when I took the driver door panel apart to install a set of Infinite Component Speakers. To verify polarity I traced the wires back to the dashboard JVC CD System and that’s when things got interesting. To make a long story short I am rewiring the entire system CORRECTLY as I replace the speakers but in my haste to remove the JVC unit from the dashboard the antenna cable broke at the connection. Now what? I think replacing the cable is going to be a LOT of trouble. Can I simply replace the connection on the end of the cable? Radio Shack doesn’t have a male replacement connector for an auto antenna cable.

If Vu wasn't so far from me I would take it to his shop and be done with it.

When you say "broke at the connection", I'm assuming the connector broke off. You shouldn't be too bad off; since you have a 88 you have the antenna in the windshield. Worst case scenerio, you pull the antenna booster box out and replace the entire peice of antenna wire. The booster box can be removed from the luggage compartment by removing the black cover and un bolting it. Its on the passenger side up near the corner of the window.
