Rick, I had a mechanic pull the a/c out of my '76 with a racheting wrench. I did it later with normal box wrenches but it appears that your situation is tighter. Don't you wish Porsche engineers would have thought about not pulling engines. Anyway, try to get ahold of a ratcheting box wrench. The finer the mechanism the better off you'll be as it doesn't look like you have much room for throw.

why are you messing with that compressor . . . drop the engine remove all extrainious parts, fix alt (YOU KNOW its easier with the engine out) and re-install engine. Could have done it in the time you posted all that stuff on pelican.

Don't see any problem that couldn't be solved with an engine drop and
blow torch. SAE bolts?!? Ah, no wrenches ....

Marc, he's been away from the "it's easier with the engine out" philosophy
since he bought that 993. If we don't do something soon he may be
irrepairably damaged. Maybe even do something rash like buy a Toyota!

Could be time for Dorki intervention. Nab him, stuff in the trunk (anyone
have a trunk?), buy some PBR, haul him out to an undisclosed garage
and drop the engine out of a Carrera. Surely someone has a Carrera
in need of a drop, or at least suspects is in need of a drop.

The 930 has an oil leak ...
