Thanks for the warm welcome gents.

@ Brian - Thank you. White is a somewhat forgiving color as I'm sure you know. The more I polish out that oxidized paint, the more her bumps and dings show. However; when I was 34 years old, I had a few by then too!

@Lupin - thanks for getting me in here, and for the welcome.

@ Trak Ratt - The shadow from a large tree makes the rear glass look very dark; she's a Targa not a cab But I do have TONS of history on her starting in about '91.

@KIQ350 - the interior is black. It was redone about 10 years ago and is in surprisingly great shape. How about yours?

Happy Thanksgiving.

My mistake! Could be the G&Ts but more likely bad lighting on my end. Nice car! Always good to have history too. Bring it out to one of PCAPs techs and we'll put it on a lift for you.

Sounds nice. Mine is blue.

Definitely take it to a tech session.

Default RE: 911 Intro

Good Day to All,

I am a new Porsche owner. After scouring too many ads to mention, I finally found a beautiful 1986 Targa. I am not exactly new to the Porsche world. In the early 80's I owned a 914 and worked for a Porsche shop in Georgia.

Even though I am somewhat familiar with Porsche (air cooled), I am looking for a good mechanic. By a good mechanic, I mean someone who can make a car go faster without necessarily making my wallet lighter. I currently live in the Fredericksburg area.

In closing, I must say the Dorkiphus site is outstanding. Over the last couple of weeks I have reviewed many of your forums pertaining to some issues on my car and they have been more than helpful. My hat is off to all.

Thank you for the opportunity to post and I look forward to being a Porsche owner for the rest of my breathing life. Best to all.

Clay

Welcome Clay,

I highly suggest Chapman Auto Werks in Sterling Va. Taylor the owner has tons of experience and his right hand Andrew Goodnight is amazing as well.

Bill,

Chapman Auto Werks was recommended by others as well. Glad to see all are on the same page. As for marking her territory, she has no leaks to speak of. But, she does like eating it. I'll bring her to Chapman in the coming weeks for a valve adjustment. Thank you again for the recommendation.
