Default Caliper rebuild kits

Darn. I was installing new pads last night and both front calipers have questionable seals on the pistons. No leaks, but they are a little ragged, not sure if they are up for summit next weekend. My local parts place cant get the kits, Tischer says $28/each and ~5 days to order. Anyone have a set I can buy, or know of some one that has these in stock?

Thanks!

Chris,

I think I have a set of fronts.

I'll check tonight and let you know.

I was going to post on this very subject. Last weekend a friend & I replaced his shocks, tie rod ends, changed the trans & engine fluids & rebuilt his brakes. He got his front & rear brake kits from Vertex. One kit contained parts for 2 different size calipers, neither Porsches. He went to Olympic of Eisenhower Ave for replacements. He got 1 WRONG rebuild kit & 2 wrong hardware kits. Also, ½ of the new pad retainer clips broke. All had proper parts numbers on boxes, or bags but dust covers, springs, seals or something else was wrong w/each.

Word to the wise - keep the best of the old, use it to verify parts before the tear down

Check with Ken Robinson. He bought all four kits for his car, and it ended up the calipers were to messed up to rebuild, so he bought four new rebuilt calipers. He may still have the rebuild kits.

Nope! Sent them back to Vertex along with the old caliphers (core charge). Only good news was Vertex gave me 100% credit on returning the rebuild kits (instead of their normal 15% handling charge).
Vertex can overnight and has them in stock.
