I just bought my first Porsche - a '85 Carrera coupe. Since I can't drive it because it snows every other day, I'm working out all of the "projects" I have planned for the car - tie rods, lowering, H4s, etc. The one thing I'm not real sure about is the transmission. The 1st gear synchros are gone, although the rest of the gears shift fine (yeah sloppy, but hopefully some adjustmens and new shift bushings will help).
I want to rebuild the 915 at some point in the future, and am debating on doing it myself or paying to have it done. It looks straight forward enough, but I haven't been able to find any real deailed info on the rebuild process. I have the Bently book, but their coverage is a little more sparse than I'd like. Has anyone done such a rebuild? Anyone know of a good technical info source (other than the $1000 factory service manual that I can't afford

)? Thanks!
