Default Imminent garage ownership!

Yes, the day is fast approaching when I will be able to just walk downstairs with a warm PBR and tinker with my car away from the elements. Ok, so it's a tiny sardine can of a condo on Lee Hwy, but it has a garage, it's almost walking distance from the NRA range and it WILL be mine soon.

When I was checking out the place, the garage was empty and sure looked small, almost too small to get a floor jack under one side and still have room to raise it. When I went back for a second look, I walked into the garage and there was a 996 cab in there. So I figured it was big enough and probably did not want to be left Porsche-less. By end of October, it will be mine!

A big congrats to you, RL! No more wrenching out in the elements. Have you planned out your garage mods yet? You know you'll need cable and internet access in there. A place for a refridge is a must, too. And a lift. And an epoxy floor. And...

I'm already shopping for track wheels, since I won't have to store them in my kitchen (anymore). Refrigerator, probably even a kegerator, is a definite. I may not have room for a workbench. No room for a lift. But I can probably fit a small air compressor in there. This will be one packed garage when I'm done with it.

that's great. Does this mean you are staying in the DC area for a while? Next thing you will be complaining about not having enough garage space. you will sound like me!

Yeah, I'm here for a few more years. Job is about to improve a lot, ARM on current house just shot up, engagement is over and so it was time to get new digs.

And how do you go about finding a house that already has a Porsche owner?

RL, I think this calls for an engine drop as celebration .
Walking distance from the NRA range .

Pari, I was thinking that, as I want to install a lightweight flywheel later this year. But with recent memories of dropping Jim's 993 engine using floor jacks and wood blocks, and then having done it on a lift more recently, I'm gonna book some time on my friend's lift for the big stuff. It was pretty cool, standing there with a beer in hand, pushing a button and watching the car lift off the drivetrain.

Hey, since we can buy assault weapons and hi-capacity magazines again soon, I plan to go shopping (I hate VA's one gun a month rationing law) and then try out the new toys at the NRA range. I just called one of my favorite shops and they said I should be able to get an AR-15 in about a month. Colt can't even start making them until today, so we have to wait for that and then shipping.
