After Saturday’s drop I started thinking about a stop-gap-heater for our garage. After looking at a few Sunday morning, Linda & I got a Coleman butane 45K BTU, Radiant heater, about $80. No thermostat control, but continuous output at 5 predetermined setting. It fits easily on the top of our 20lb. bottle. The big test was right after Eric & I got back from picking up his 3.0 in NW DC. Inside the garage it was around 25 degrees, after about an hour the temperature had risen to 40 degrees. W/in 2 hours it was pushing 50! I turned the heater to the 2nd stop & worked comfortably on the 924T for the rest of the day. The heater easily maintained 50 degs at that setting untill 6 PM when quit for the day. I settled on placing the heater on my Workmate just inside the “big” door & opened a nearby window a few inches. The thermostat was on the opposite wall just inside the “little” door. Garage is 24’ X 24’ w/9’ walls, open ceiling, & it is well insulated. At the advertised 30 hours/bottle at maximum, this may work out real well

Thanks for the tip. I have a single burner propane and I wish it lasted for 30 hours. 10 maybe. I got it for work but plan to bring it the the shop for the real cold days when the other heaters just don't make it. It might just be incorporated into a patented Jamie special powder coating oven too.

There were 2 guys from a glass company installing a windshield in the Carrera today. The garage was a toasty ~65. Talk about a smile on their face.
I never regret installing the Hot Dawg heater. Money well spent. |

I'm using a Reddy Heater (30k BTW hooked to a propane tank) bought from HD and it manages to keep my garage nice and toasty as well.
Gotta have the heat this time of year
