I'm a DIY'er at heart!
As I mentioned before, I was going to need to get my welder out anyway.
When I was looking for my video camera, I saw a tripod I bought a long time ago. So with the head of the tripod, a roller blade wheel, a screw and a bit of metal that I had lying arround I cut and made the mount.
Took about an hour.

I would have bought the IO from Aubrey for $50, but that was snapped up while I was toying with the bullet camera Idea which wouldn't work with my camera. (I could have solved that problem with a new video camers, but the slippery slope is reserved for the car!) At OG I saw the mount and benchmarked off it.

My guess is that the roller blade wheel has a 50% chance of reducing the vibration. If it doesn't I still have the bracket and will go from there.

So far The cost was $0.00 and about an hour.
I've heard something about a strap. The camera came with a strap that goes arround your neck. It's attached to 2 metal pieces on the camera.

I can get it snuggly arround the bars to hold the camera if the mount or camera case were to break. It will flop arround a little but can't go that far foreward. Is thia all that's required?

Very slick fabbing, Bill!

Don't know if its required, but I was not 'dinged' for not having one. If the neck strap you mention has a little string on the end that you loop through the camera, that little string will probably not hold in case of a high impact. If it's one solid lanyard type strap, you're probably fine. Just find a way to wrap it around the roll bar and secure it to the camera.

Thanks for the complement!
The strap attaches to the camera at 2 points which are metal projections with a slot in them for the strap. Except for the adjusters, it's just a strap that's padded. I have been able to rout the strap to take up all the slack and leave just enough to aim.
Kurt mentioned to stuff some foam rubber between the camera and the roll bar to help eliminate big vibration since the mount itself will flex.
I might try mounting the camera right on top of the wheel. I'm not sure I need all the adjustment that the middle piece gives. (On the other hand if I remove that piece I might be filming the dashboard instead of the track.)

BTW, I'm assuming these cameras have auto focus. I'm wondering if that's a problem since it will focus on the dash and windsheild and not out in front of the car. Anyone have that problem?
I might have to dig out the instruction manual
