Michael, If your car is in good shape, you'll have plenty of shutter time between sessions. Most of us are tweeking, adjusting or fixing between sessions on our "works in progress". Check your e-mail, I believe a schedule has been sent out by PCA Potomac.

Thanks Ted.

In the event I don't have to do any fixing of my own, I'll try to shoot a little when time permits.

You're right, the sked looks like ample opportunity...thnx again.

Michael

So true, David.

For those that are wondering why Ted's car rides so low, here is a picture I took of the cleaning supplies that he keeps in the back seat...

That's good! I though it was the sewer pipe he had hanging under the motor.

Photoedit You should have plenty O time to shoot. Come find me and I will show you some good places to shoot from. I will be working my N-70 and will shooting when I get a chance.

David, I resemble that remark!

Kurt, Will you come over and help me relocate the small family that has taken up residence in my muffler before the DE this weekend?

Do you like the N70? It is my top pick for a camera to photograph my upcoming pit crew. Post some photos! BTW, make sure to get all the Dorkis your not instructing.
Not to hijack this thread too much, oh wait, it's my thread!! 8)

Love the D-70 but what do I know, I am not a pro or even an experienced amateur photographer. The only Digital camera I had to compare it to was an E-10 and the E-10 was an OK cam but old hardware.

1. The D-70 comes on fast and shoots fast considering the file size and camera cost. With less that a second wake up time just flick the switch, put it to your eye and shoot. The E-10 took forever to warm up and I had to add a hand grip battery pack to get any sort of battery life but the D-70 runs and runs on the stock battery.
2. 3 frames a second for full card when using a medium speed or better card and a good burst of 12 frames or so when using an old issue 1 gig CF micro drive.
3. The included lens in the stock kit is a very good one, not a cheap throw in.
4. The speedlight 600 and 800 strobes are nice units. They work with full integration on the D-70 and the 800 can be used as a wireless master for one or more 600s with full TTL. I have a 600 and will get an 800 when I have some $ and I find a good deal on one. Put the 800 on the cam and put the 600 on a stand for a remote fill flash. The 600 seems to have a good recycle rate.

I have one beef with the D-70. As near as I can tell it does not have a sleep mode so you have to remember to turn it off. On the other hand I have left it on for 10 + hours and have still shot over 200 or so images on a battery. It is rated and has been tested to well over 500 images per charge.

Hijack over, back to content.

Are y'all talking about the D70 or did Nikon come out with a digital version of the N70?
