A few old timers? may remember a certain member of Potomac started DE in a 951 and was going through a sex change. During the course he? was on massive hormones which severely affected his judgement and obviously consistency. His instructor at the time was an older very staid ex marine.Poor Ron Bulmer was completely gob smacked when he was told what was going on!!He? also appeared on 60 minutes I think it was as a subject on road rage and being cuffed by Fairfax finest!! Had a student recently at FATT at SP in a newish Boxster S. First time out so I drove a couple of laps. Then he tells me he usually passes pit out at 150MPH plus on his race bike. He knew the track well, but not his Boxster, ended the day spinning out at 3 towards the Jefferson and front end 3 foot up a tree.(Luckily with another Instructor) He did manage to drive a slightly concourse challenged car home.

As far as the question. I don't know of any PCA or Potomac rules that would keep you off the track. If you can drive normaly and you and your Dr. think it is OK go for it. DE is advanced driving, nothing more. You decide how agressive or rough you want to be.

BTW. Kart experenced students are fun to instruct too. I have now had 3 with Kart experence and all 3 started out by tossing the car around, way late braking and jerking the wheel into turns. The good news as the learning curve is fast and they end up driving better than non Kart drivers for the most part. The first Kart student I had was driving this way and I had the hardest time figuring out what the &%$* he was thinking untill I asked him if he ever drove a Kart. Now I always ask first.

Please, all we ask is no bitchy estrogen induced tantrums! This means you too, Dirk

A nice instructor with a black 78 SC tried to coach me on getting more power out of my SC during the bracking exercises. I can't remember names too well, but you have similar cars...thought it might have been you.

Back to the regularly scheduled discussion.
