Default OK, Changed my mind!

I went to box up the dammaged strut and decided to do a close inspection to see if I could find any thther differences between the yellow and green struts. I did find something notable. It may or may not have any real impact, but there was a difference at the transition between the full diameter of the shiney piston to the section that looks like a bolt on top.
This is where the dust cover is held in place. The green strut had a transition like a cone shape while the yellow one was sort of a flat top with a bolt welded on the top. This indicated to me that at least the design had been changed so I decided that it's probably best to get a set that matches exactly. It's on it's way back.

One thing I recalled was that there was no rubber bumper on the top of the strut like the one I pulled of the Boge. This I assumed soften the impact if it bottomed out, or added a little more stiffness if the strut was compressed that far.

In any event, I don't think it can go back on, can it? Is there something that takes it's place. Maybe the bilstien's have it built in?
