I know these cars get a bad rap, and we like to pick on the owners but I liked mine, after I got it all sorted out. The new owner loves it. But I have no room to talk, I also like 914's and.....................dare I say it........................Boxsters. Good luck with the sale.

Perhaps it would help the rest of us, and provide general knowledge for future reference if you felt like sharing the (at least approximate) sale price that your "much better than average" example sold for? As was discussed in this thread, cars this age vary widely in condition and determining a realistic value in the market can be difficult.

Andy,

Great question. I am confident Bill will be able to happily verify the car was in great shape and is getting what I consider a jewel. According to NADA for cars older than 1984, in the condition I deem mine to be, the 1984 944 non-turbo could retail for $6k. As you know, I asked $3,500 for mine. Bill was more than happy to honor the appreciation of the car and the asking price! Not too often do you find a 944 that you could drive off in where EVERYTHING works. Even down to the built-in alarm. Hopefully this answers your questions.
