Default U-Haul car trailer or toy trailer

Ok

The move to Magnolia Texas is happening

I need to tow my 718 Boxster there somehow

Professional enclosed transport would be twice the cost of using a U-Haul

Plus going U-Haul gets my pickup truck there too

Not looking forward to the 22 hours of driving, plus hotel, plus fuel

Would it be better to get the ‘new’ toy hauler or the old car trailer from U-Haul?

I was also thinking of getting a good quality outdoor car cover to put on the Boxster

Or should I really just pay for transport??

Comments and suggestions welcome

Thanks!

Otto

Hi Otto. Are you sure that the toy hauler is suitable for cars? I thought that these were for motorcycles, ATVs and such.

Warmer climes seem like a good idea!

The toy hauler works for small and compact cars

But I will call them tomorrow to be sure

The Boxster is 3100# which might make a difference

No cover the wind will destroy your paint!

A good detail prior to your trip would be the best paint protection.

Enjoy the journey

You are welcome to leave the hairdresser car here with me and I’ll take her out regularly while you move, just a few trips around the block Saturdays and Sundays

LOL 😂

Well, the thing is, we have a Ram truck, a Lexus, and the Boxster

If the Boxster was not a 25th anniversary edition I might be willing to part with it, but no

I suggested we sale the Ram, but was informed by family in Texas, you cannot live in Texas without a truck!!!

I suggested we sale Karen’s Lexus, and I got the look 👀 so not sure that is going to fly

Thanks for that - no cover during transport - got it

Last night Karen talk me into paying for enclosed professional transport 😆

Here I was trying to be the hero and save some bucks

So this drive will only be the Ram truck packed with "sensitive gear"

Then we will fly back to continue our move

This is my second State to State move… never again…
