Nope. The corners of the tub behind the wheel wells are all wrinkled and creased, with the seam on one side separated a little. The area between the hood and the windshield has a good wave in it.

As Charlie put it - its impossible to know where the towers are sitting relative to where they should be.

Heh... On my last gig in Afghanistan, I led a team of contractors that were all retired FBI, DEA, etc..., supporting ISAF SOF, while working for the Admiral that is now THE Judge Advocate General.

But, we get free legal advice that includes consumer fraud cases - so I've put in a call to make an appointment.

Well, it's fixable but as mentioned before serious money to fix it right. Unwind the deal, and if you get pushback, lawyer up quickly. I think it's unlikely that the seller didn't know about this, although I owned a car for 10 years before I learned that a prior owner had fixed damage incorrectly and the suspension mounting point in the left front corner was not in the correct location and should have been more expensive to fix than the car was worth at the time. That might give people a reason why I am such a strong supporter of Europros!

I'm sure getting a $pecial deal on it helps too.

It was more than a special deal, as George knows. I would not have repaired it otherwise. But my point was that these things can show up late. I bought the car through the mechanic who did the PPI on my first 911 12 years earlier, and he should have noticed the prior damage (there was an obvious re-weld that was not all that well done--the frame tweak was far less obvious).

Might be worth looking on RennLisp and pelican (racing and other forums) to see if PO posted a wreck in the last couple of years...
Might try the shops website to see if they have a forum too.

Gonna get it up on the lift at my buddy's shop tomorrow and take some measurements. Anybody know where I can find the proper chassis dimensions?

Factory workshop manuals have nice body diagrams with dimensions.

Buddy of mine steered me to this thread after I mentioned after all the fast modern cars I'd realy like to get an aircooled 911 racecar. WOW, I feel for you man. Good luck with this mess and I hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction.

Mike
