It's most likely a bad relay or relay connection. The question is of course which one? A 1988 turbo has many that can cause a no start condition.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-9...snt-start.html You may want to repost your question in the Pelican 930 forum. There are lots of DIY 930 guys in that forum that have been there, done that, with 930 no start conditions. Myself included. As cmartin suggested in post #22 verify fuel, then spark. Or spark, then fuel. Your choice.

X2 or more: can you hear the fuel pump running? The one under under the steering rack.
I had a no start issue on 1980 911SC that turned out to be fuel pump issue. The power wire going from the fuse block to the fuel pump was loose in the fuse block. The screw holding with wire in place had backed out slightly from vibration over the years. I needed a slight trim off the end of the fuel pump wire (was blackened from arcing), reinserted the wire into the fuse block, tighten screw (and snug all others in fuse block) and was running again.

Turbo23dog is onto something. Back in the day, the fuse block where the fuel pump fuse is located was a big problem for the 930's. They run hot, the fuse and wires bake and get crispy...seen it many times. If the pump is not running, definitely the first place to look.--Dave

Turbo won't start is a classic issue. There are several items to check. We have a thread dedicated to it on Pelican
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-9...snt-start.html But here are a few things to check: Yellow relay in engine compartment (I think it is yellow - I switched to EFI a while back and memory may be fading, but think it is yellow) boost sensor connection - it is on the magnesium recirc chamber fuel relays in the front trunk - best test here is when you turn the key you should hear BOTH fuel pumps running. If you do not, then check the fuel relays. If you still get stuck, give me a call 240 876-1305 or drop a line. Not sure where you are located but if close by I am happy to drop by and help you figure it out. It will be straightforward assuming mice have not introduced other variables. We need to get you to swap out all that overengineering for EFI!!

would also look at fuse panel and make sure fuse is good and contacts are clean...also check for voltage across the contacts for the fuse. dirty fuse contacts can cause pump not to get voltage.
one simple way to help isolate the problem...try and start the car, then go to the engine bay and smell for fuel...CIS starts putting fuel out right away and if it is flowing and car not starting there will be a smell of gas...if no smell, I would focus on fuel first then air and spark.
