1988 930 won't start

Need to pick the dork brain trust.

1988 930 Turbo cab with just under 40,000 miles.

Cranks and cranks but won't fire

Drove it about a month prior with no issues.

Suggestions?

I guess the first step is to check the basics. Does it have air, fuel and spark? What's the voltage on the battery? Any leaks, clogs or broken hoses?

SilverStreak 02-18-2017 06:17 PM

I dunno. The battery was very strong.

I'll see tomorrow if anything is obvious. I really don;t know how to check any of that stuff. I'm just a driver.

Maybe a relay issue? Pelican seems to have a few that might be relevant.

If I can't get it started it's free to a good home. Any takers? :D

I've got a spare DME relay for a '86 911. Don't know if it will work for a 930 though.

Thanks Jim. It may not have one. At least not the same one as the Carrera. I'm not seeing one on Pelican.

88 930 should be CIS, so no DME or DME relay. Need the CIS experts here to chime in on what to look for.

Thanks Jazz.

Vid so no brain lthingy. Prolly does have the O2 sensor. My money is on fuel pump or relay. Yturn key on and listen for fuel pump and Cisco whine

It may need an adjustment.

Ugly surprise this morning. Evidence of mouse in the trunk.
