Separated the old insulation from the rear seat sound dampening mat. Going to replace with some dynaliner. Spent sometime polishing the aluminum trim.

The original felt window channel was very sturdy and after 40 some years not at all easy to remove.

Been doing a series of small things. Finally got up the nerve to cut the headliner and install the lights. Picked up a set of phone dials today to put on while I refurb the wheels that are on the car.

I just did the same last week. Was a PITA to remove. Pelican has the replacements, without the metal in it. they go in nice and work great.

I need to post some updates as well.

Cheers

Much different project, of course, but what I learned in the stereo upgrade to my 997 is that dash-mounted speakers destroy sound quality because of all the bouncing around on the windshield that happens - that's why there are now speakers in the interior at the side view mirror mounts in some cars.

I found a GREAT stereo guy in F-burg that I drove from M-ville, MD to get to. My 997 now sounds amazing and has Android Auto to boot! If you're interested, I can dig up the shop name. Guy is a real craftsman.

You're in Waldorf? I may have to keep your paint guy in mind...

BTW - LOVE the color and new choices all around. Would love to see it in person when complete.
