Driver level restoration of 74 911
1 Attachment(s)
Started at the front end and working my way back. Started filling up a project list with hoses, headlight buckets, hardware and rubber parts. Having the hardest time getting the headlight buckets seperated from the fenders. Hope to have it back together this time next year.

I believe the Headlight buckets are welded to the fenders. If not, I can say I've never seen one out of a fender before unless it was rusted out...

More progress. Took a while to seperate the glass from the regulator. Now to repeat this on the drivers side and get the engine and transmission removed during the long weekend.

All the glass out. Removed the headlight buckets with the grinder. Starting to take the dash apart.

looks to be a fun project...are you going to strip it and repaint or just get it apart and replace all the rubber?
|
This looks familiar to me. It starts like that, and before you know it it's a full restoration.
Why are you removing the head light buckets ? Rusted ? Looking forward to see more. Cheers Engelbert |

Yeah the buckets were rusted out on the bottom and the front lip was gone in several places. I am going to have the car repainted and replace any of the rubber that has deteriorated. Most of the window and door seals are original and dried out.

Took a while but have the dash pad out working on all the stuff in the dash. Not sure what to do with my 42 year old mono speaker.
