Some luck lies not in getting what you thought you wanted but getting what you have, which once you have got it you may be smart enough to see is what you would have wanted had you known.

Hello All,

I'm a renewed Porsche fan living in Ashburn VA. I call myself a renewed Porsche fan as I have owned various p-cars in the past and have just acquired another p-car.

P-cars I have owned in the past:
79 924 from 82 - 91
89 944 from 89 - 93
84 944 from 98 - 99

Today (June 2013), i have a 2001 911 C2.

My interest in p-cars are not racing them, but the sheer beauty of the car and it's performance capabilities. Each of the P-cars I have or currently own, are 100% (or as close as my budget allows) to being 100% stock.

As for mechanical abilities, I use to (1985-96) do tube up rebuilding of VW beetles as a hobby, I would consider my self to be above novice performing tasks such as welding the frame and body panels to rebuilding the motors to painting the cars. Today, I just do the routine maintenance on my cars such as simple fluid changes, tire rotations, engine peripheral (water pump, thermostat, A/C Compressor, belt, etc) replacements, brake caliper rebuilds, etc.

My garage is fairly stocked with a full height (72 inches) lift, 33 gallon dual stage compressor, craftsman hand tools (sockets, wrenches, etc.), mig welder, broken plasma cutter, various air tools, and a boat load of tools that my wife or boy have used and places in hiding spots throughout the house.

Now a bit about my current car. It is a bright yellow 2001 type 996 cab with 50K miles on the clock. It is currently at Chapman's having the aggressive flywheel replaced with a factory dual mass flywheel and clutch kit (bearing, etc), and while the transmission is out, the AOS, Gas Filter, rear main seal, LN Engineering IMS bearing kit, and slave cylinder is also being replaced. The car will be used as a daily driver except for days when need to drive into DC, then I will drive the hybrid so I can use the HOV lanes.

My other hobby - Guns. I am an AFT licensed gun dealer, with CCW and have been ranked as expert/sharpshooter. My longest shot is 2144 yards (6 out of 9 shots) out at the NRA Whittington center with my Barrette 82A1 50BMG. I have traveled all over the US training and shooting at various ranges. Though I like to shoot long range, I am no stranger to handguns. I shoot on average 8-10 thousand pistol rounds per year and about 2 thousand rifle (5.56, 308, and 338 lapua) rounds and about 6-8 hundred rounds of 50 BMG.

Well that is me in a nut shell. How is that for an introduction?!?!

Last but not least, my name is Al

Welcome, Al. The above sounds like Tom Selleck's character in "Quigley Down Under!"
