My guess is that they had all the performance bells and whistles (PDCC, PTV, etc.), but I didn't have time to check.

The idea of the transmission deciding when to shift on the track makes me uncomfortable.
If uncomfortable = faster I agree. For a track appliance and/or when lap times are your goal PDK is a no brainer. I doubt anyone is faster in a manual compared to a PDK, same thing with the computer shifting. I'm old fashioned though, at least for now, and prefer 3 pedals.

My newest 911 was built when I was 6 so these I'm impressed with working A/C and a telescoping wheel! The rest is gravy.

The 991S DID NOT have the automatically adjusting sway bars (can't remember the Porsche acronym). I asked Cass that after I drove it.

I had a fun time. I wasn't expecting much as far as seat time. Four of us from the region drove up, so we had fun trying to scare each other on the track

Uncomfortable in the sense of the car deciding to shift in a curve, while I'm trying to modulate the throttle. The PDK shifting is certainly faster than me, but maybe not faster than BMan.

I had an invite and I needed to cancel at the last minute, work got in the way. I wasn't planning on it, but ended up spending most of the weekend cleaning up from the storm.

Default Interesting...

Thanks for the info. It's interesting the 991S didn't have the PDCC option. After driving the 991S without it, I'm rather certain I wouldn't spec one with it.

In any event, you would think Porsche would be more aggressive in marketing the performance options at these events. It's a good atmosphere to decide if the upgrades are worth it or not.

Did both the 991 models have the Sport Chrono Package (I think they did as I recall both having "Sport Plus")? The reason I ask is that I would be interested in testing the 991s with and without the dynamic engine mounts, which seem to make a lot of sense in terms of limiting weight transfer on the track.

Coming from a car with no electronic doo dads it was fun to play with the buttons. I especially liked the one that made the car sound better, how ever that works it's ok in my book. The other button I liked was sport plus, or something like that. Seemed the shifts firmed up, hard to tell anything else. I know I would have spun at least once in my car w/o the electronic nanny, too bad we couldnt take them on the skidpad and compare settings.

Cant say it enough, the cars were so easy to drive with the pdk it was silly. Tons of fun.
