I'll chime in here....Mr. Behe is very well repected among the tuning community and for good reason. Many of his customers are shops from all over the east coast. He tuned my car and his philosophy is to set up the electronics so the car runs it's best...not the most horsepower, not the most torque. He can do that if you want...just prepare to spend more money fixing things that break or malfunction due to running outside the parameters for which they were designed. I have two sets of DME boxes for my car...one for SP3 with PCA/944Cup that had to be detuned to meet the rules, and one set for NASA that the car runs with optimum combustion efficiency(and significantly more horsepower and torque) but still does not run outside of normal operating conditions. Mr. Behe will take the time to explain anything you need to know about your car and also offer suggestions to improve your car. He is a great resource and I highly recommend his services.

i'd be curious to see what he could do to help my car class better in NASA GTS. but I've got to use the stock chip to stay in G. although maybe if the gain was enough, there'd be a reason to move to H with a chip.

The reason my engine was blown was because some idiot put in a Cyntex (spelling???) chip when it was rebuilt previously (I actually know who the idiot is but I did not own the car back when that happened - anyway PM if you want to know who to avoid) AND HAD TUNED IT TO 45 DEGREES ADVANCED - stock is about 12. Behe took out the offending chip and returned it to a stock chip then did very very very minor tuning just off of Porsche's specs even though I was standing there saying no, Charlie w said it would be fine as did Mr. Behe.

Answer - get a second DME. Not sure how the DME is on the 964 engine, but it takes me <15 minutes to change mine (mounted vertically behind the driver's seat), and it would take me only 5 minutes if I hadn't listened to other Dorki's and shock-mounted it, or had used the proper shock-mount hardware (I'm sure I saved at least $2.00 ). Anyway, get a second DME and have 2 - one for NASA and one for PCA.

Which is what I have done....the chip is my only prepared mod...so far.

Mr. Behe fixed my 944 turbo. It was a really difficult diagnosis, but he tracked it down in a reasonable amount of time. I never would have found it. For how he fixed it, see: http://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthr...069#post376069

Since he has the car, I'm having him make me some chips/software for the 951 for GTS-2, GTS-3, and a low power gradual turbo boost program for my 16 and 17 year old daughters.

Well, hopefully with the car running, I'll be able to try racing next year with a car that actually runs correctly.
