Great. Now Antonio will go from being one of the few cars I can run with to just another car that passes me... But good work, Ryan, and great times in that car! Were you on Hoosiers with that 1:24.2?

Ghetto looked more like the old days with }{ there and an appearnce by Jazz. We were dead on Friday PM, so could not hang out for refreshments.

BTW, for a guy who did not drive, I did way too many tire changes.

Hey Dr, my sentiments as well with Antonio soon to be pushing into the lower 20s. I'll run with you...

As far as the tires, yes they were on Hoosiers.

Hey, Skip - happy to run with you, although I had trouble keeping up with you yesterday... Hoping to find a bit of speed in the engine, and better tires, and will try to keep up at VIR.

I am taking baby steps, the key for me is being consisted and feel confident to do it over and over again, I still at high 25's like Evan said you suck LOL

I shaved some time this weekend because last event an instructor told me I was overdriving my car. I spend this Friday and Saturday driving my car with the tips of my fingers and I am back dancing with it!

Dr K my times come with a lot of dedication and help from local instructors

Antonio

Saturday night? I saw Jazz on Friday, but Saturday the ghetto was very quiet as I left to catch up on the rest of my beauty sleep. I have reached middle-age and can no longer keep up

I just thought I would pile on to this thread and say what a great time I enjoyed at the Porschefest HPDE over the weekend. I also want to thank all of the organizers and volunteers for a job well done.

It was my first time on the track in 2 years and my first time ever in a 911. I purchased a 996 GT3 from Seth Thomas two months ago and boy am I ever glad I did. The car performed flawlessly and I moved from Green to Blue after day 1 with the support of my instructor Tony Kelley. I had a blast in Blue being chased - but never caught! - by the red Cobra (driven by "Paul" who turned out to be a great guy).

Becoming one with a machine of this caliber on track is a very addicting experience! Not that I would know since in my case it was more like one and a half, but let's just say the hook is set ...

I also took advantage of the skid pad 3 times over the weekend and learned at least as much there as on the track. Thanks also to the BMW folks for their time and expertise.

I snapped a few shots in the paddock and published them here:

https://picasaweb.google.com/1080159...eat=directlink

no action shots though ... I have to figure out where to position myself for those next time.

FYI I was in the white 2005 GT3, car #8 ... green on day 1 and blue days 2/3.

edit - also meant to give a shout out to Justin Wine who took the time to show me how it's done properly in his own 996 GT3 and who also drive my car and gave his impressions (something like: 'twitchy steering, hard to drive, not setup well, and the tires suck'). Thanks Justin ... I have some work to do!

Cheers,
Josh

Great event!!!

Well, I didn't attend, or drive, or anything. But I did show up Friday evening with lots of booze for the ghetto happy hour. If you missed it, you missed it.
