Not sure you can hang it from the top bar, probably would look straight at the mirror. Lower bar or harness bar shoots below the mirror but the mirror is still visible. Have also seen the IO monted on the front side strut of a cage. I tried an older video camera about 8" by 5". Vibration was too much. Strap comes with the IO and should you have a sudden stop, will stop a couple pound camera bouncing around inside the vehicle to whack you.
