Sounds like I missed some fun at the Dyno!. Just got back from an HSR event at the Glen where I witnessed the death of a few cherry early(ier) 911s (65 SWB 911, 67 911, 75 carrera). I guess all race cars can be resurrected with the right amount of $ so, they aren't really dead.

Before the event we had done some earlier work on a chasis dyno and netted another 12 hp on our 68 911 2.0 liter. Was making 159 rwhp and after rejetting 46 - PMOs and some other carb tuning got 171 rwhp. Not sure about difference in 901 versus 915 powertrain loss or "heuristic" but over the years we have seen a figure approximating 15-18% [early body, 901, 15" fuchs, 7s and 8s]. Mind you, we are also running 906 cams, "massaged "S" heads, headers, etc... So, 171 X 1.18 = 201. I am pretty sure this is on the low side and that we are closer to 103 or 104 hp per liter. But, goes to show what tuning and tuneups can do.

Greg, I think some chassis dyno tuning with someone intricately familiar with your webbers? solexs? PMOs? would net you a few more ponies.

He is dead on tuning is key. I was able to dial in over 15% more by tuning onthe dyno

Default Dyno tuning

Yes, that would be cool. As long as the dyno is working!
