yes, the wronger the joke, the funnier it is, holocaust included, but i would recommend avoiding their museum for now...just in case. i'm sorry i didn't have a socially acceptable "a-priest-a-rabbi-and-a-politically-correct-person walk into a bar" joke for you.

you're doing all you can for this cause. as are many others, even if they don't have the sticker to prove. so... why so sandy?
You can, just one time, suspend your "predisposed, prepackaged, and most importantly, predictable response" which is immature and sophomoric.

Sometimes your "playground" antics are just inexcusable.

I'm far more concerned with real kids on real playgrounds with HIV solely because of where they were born than your opinion of me or the cause I chose to support.

This just isn't something I'm going to joke about

I also enjoy watching bored car junkies beating each other over the head virtually.
Thank you Bob. Now next time you go to Hallmark buy a (RED) card.

I think you are missing the point here. We are in no way making fun of (RED). We are making fun of your 'tude.

I have lost good friends, sisters, wives and other close family to aids, drinking, cancer, drunk drivers and suicide. All have touched me directly and deeply. I can make an aids infected drunk driving off a bridge while smoking through his neck stoma joke because I can differentiate between (bad) jokes and getting something done. You can do both, no need of tall equines.

This certainly doesn't hold true for most (RED) products, which are made on the same assembly line as the other non-(RED) products.

They give face time for the cause but suck up $$$ that could be spent on the cause. Just give the money and or work for the cause and skip the ego hand job.

I have been donating for years and am seeing a trend. I give some $ and they use my donation filling my mail box with high $ printings asking for more $. This ticks me off to the point that I have had to stop some that were 20+ years long. One hit me at least once a month with legal sized mailings.

Off soap box.

Want to rephrase anything? How is your first quote not an indictmnet of (RED) or just about every other cause you disagree with? Your way of contributing is the right way? Must be nice to be so smug.

What tude? You attribute a characteristic to me that is of your own manufacture. I have been supporting the (RED) campaign since its inception. I don't run around patting myself on the back for it as your post implies. It's never come up until now. I'll ask again, how is it any different than the causes that many others decide to put on their cars?

The fact is that it is not. The fact is that (RED) deals with a subject matter that is hugely misunderstood. The (RED) concept, as evidenced by your first, is misunderstood by you. You made a snap judgment because you apparently know everything so you probably didn't even look at any (RED) information before you posted.

As for the personal tragedies you've experienced I can only say you have my sympathy but as far as I can recall I have never seen anyone joke about cancer, drunk driving or suicide on this board so why is it OK to joke about AIDS now? It's not. Is this the tude you refer to because I don't think cancer, drunk driving or suicide is funny either. I have a sense of humor but some things just aren't funny.

It was stupid and the context is very poor.

What's your point? I didn't say they all were and no matter who makes the product the benefit goes to the global fund. In some cases the product is actually produced in Africa thereby creating jobs in Africa. Because some aren't you poo poo the whole program?

Weak.

My last post on the matter: you over-sensitive whiner
I wasn't poo poo'ing the program. Remember, I linked the thread to it in the first place!

I do like this part.

I guess it's changed then. I've seen (RED) products before, I think there was an ipod like this, but they were always colored bright red with big logo on them, which I don't really care for. If it's normal looking products now then that's much better.
