I think insurance covers that. Plus its a 1991 so its not like youre trying to insure a $350,000 lambo. I am guessing that thing is like $50K?

I don't know the details, but at about 2:00PM today, I saw a car (Mitsu sedan) parked on the side of the GW Parkway with it's entire roof sliced off. It could have been a rescue effort from several hours earlier, but usually they cut and peel. This sucker was sliced at all pillars and lifted off!

That's what they did when Chris Deracola wrecked his 944 at SP a few years back -- instant convertible

They welded it back together too. IIRC I was a little surprised at the 3/4 around welds on the A and B pillar tubes. The metal had bee repainted but perhaps they finished them up later.

Whatever you do do not tell the track crew your neck hurts "a little" when they run up to you after you wreck. They are just itching for a chance to use the cool power cutter they have.

I watched the fire department demonstrate on a donated car.... they cut the roof off. No peeling. That could possible injure the victim more. It's actually a slow operation (I guess unless the guy is bleeding). Chock the wheels, break out all the glass, use the cutter and off with the roof.
