Default Auto Transport

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good interstate transport company? I need to ship the Benz to CA: I'd prefer enclosed, but that's pretty $$, so open is fine too.

Incidentally, I will be needing auto transport to transport the 951 from Florida to Maryland/Virginia too. Looking forward to recommendations.

For Florida to DC area you might consider the train. My father bought a car a few years ago in FL - he flew down there to pick it up, then bought a ticket on the train that included car transport and a private sleeper room. 12 hour train ride but your car comes with you, and you have a bed to sleep in. Catch an 8pm train and when you wake up, you're in DC with your car.

Steve, thanks I own two cars now as I bought a mazda speed 3 in September because I don't want to drive the 951 around as my only car. I plan to store the pork at a friend's house in Maryland.

Lupin, I actually thought of the auto-train myself too. I can pick it up in Jacksonville which is about 1.5 hours from here. I am actually only bringing my clothes and some other essentials because all my furniture is from undergrad.

My plan is to put the pork on the transport, drive the mazda with whatever packed in it to the train, pass out, wake up, drive to new place, unpack. Then either have somebody else get the pork from the transport or drive out to wherever and take care of it then.

Funny, I was considering catching the 6 pm to Atlanta, sleeping all the way to PU my truck and drive back. BOT ,I used DAS to ship from Tacoma Wa. to Va. Delivered to my door. They broke my Drivers side mirror and paid a premium to get that fixed, actually covered half the cost of the ship.

Pay my expenses and give me a business class (maybe for two if my wife wants to go) air ticket. Might be talked into doing it. Gator, you too.
