Wanna learn / practice on mine when you have some slack time? I'm back on the road, but the wheels are not all exactly pointing in the same direction! Supprisingly it drive pretty well after just eyeballing everything. Much better than the last car when I didn't even take the time to do that. Great project and thread! Working on Peter's car last night, I got to see several little improvements they made in the steering and suspension from the SC to the Carerra. BTW, if you need a hand lemme know. Still need the piston for your caliper?

Those have got to be the cleanest wheel wells ever. Wow.
I found myself in a similar boat, all I wanted to do was put on new wheels which has morphed into all new torsion bars and bushings. I've not started yet though as I am still in the research planning stages. Then all at once I plan on doing the front and rear and some other WYIT's as well. The weight loss program was one of the first projects I took on with my car. I got rid of the sound pads and some other junk, but didn't go as far as scrapping the stuff off the floor, although that would be a serious WYIT project.

No clue what settings I'm going to use yet. All TBD. Lots of camber, I know that.

That's my daughter. It's her favorite project - she gets in there with some diluted Simple Green and cleans things up. Apparently OCD is genetic. Quote:

Chris, I think Charlie was one of those who used a local hydraulic repair shop for new fuel lines. I think he took his old lines in, and they made up new lines with the same type fittings while he was there.
Project looks good. Hope to see you at a track one of these days. Rather than new sway bars, I'm trying to figure out a way to adjust chassis flex in my targa to achieve the same end. I'm thinking of trying different thickness wedges in each door gap to give me more/less flex depending on the need.

Nice!
But what's up with the fuel line replacement/gas tank cleaning? Your tank doesn't need to be cleaned unless it's rusting internally. Just take out the tank sender and look inside with a flashlight. You can always replace the screen in the plastic pumpkin inside of it. And fuel lines -- are yours leaking or cracked? Why are you making work for yourself!? Any why no glass bumpers? Do you think you'll be faster than TD now? Looks awesome. Hopefully I'll be around to help soon. |
