Default Pittsburgh Vintage Races

Just returned from a day in Pittsburgh at the Vintage Races. The Porsche turnout was much larger than last year when Porsche was actually the Marque. They had GT-3's, GT-2's, 356's and lots of early 911's. What a day. Probably about 150-200 cars from '55 through '04. The German, Italian and British turnout was beyond belief.

Races were pretty cool too.

Took the '99 Cab on its maiden voyage - no problems.

Last year we went on Sunday, and the number of cars on the grass was minimal at best. This year we went on Saturday when you could see the races and the enormous carshow in one day. I had a pit pass with one of my 356 friends, but my wife had a headache...and I didn't wanna press my luck. As it was, I dragged her around the show for 4 hours plus. The PCA Allegeghny (sp) region put out a nice hot meal which helped tremendously.

I've been to all the Carlisle events and this show was much larger from a purely 'cars on display' point of view. To give a rough idea, there were maybe 100 Austin Healey's alone! I saw two MB Gullwings in pristine shape, some extreamly rare Aston-Martins, several Z-8's, Lotus', Morgans, and some of the lesser seen cars. I saw some pretty fine looking '93 RS's as well. One of the 356 Potomac guys I know took Best in Class with his nice Signal Red 64C Coupe.

Even the Vette guys were friendly , one of them escorted us to the park when we got lost on the way there.

Definitely a genetic disorder coupled with mild OCD. Unfortunately the insurance company's don't cover this type of malady, would make having this ailment a little more bearable.

I'm slowly learning to cope and deal

I'm on step 3: learn when to say NO!
