Default 69 Vintage Racer 911 - Ebay

No affiliation ... just a nice car. I thought some of their choices for layout / motor, etc... were interesting.

1969 911Vintage racer

I like the fact they got 7s and 8s on the car. CAN be done with some body work [before painting] and imagination

Specs:

1969 Porsche 911 Track Car
Vehicle Description

You are bidding on a professionally prepared 1969 RS lightweight 911 Porsche This car was completely disassembled and media blasted. A full roll cage was then installed with driver side NASCAR type bars for full protection of the driver. All suspension points in the rear were reinforced to make the chassis stronger. The tub was then painted throughout. All suspension components are new or rebuilt with the latest urethane bushings. All bearings and hardware are new. All brakes and hardware are new including stainless steel lines. All hard lines are new. Brake components are on the spec sheet below. The drive train consists of a professionally built 2.7 RS Spec. manual fuel injected 6 cylinder motor and 915 transmission. A 15 gallon fuel safe fuel cell was then installed with all stainless steel fuel lines and AN fittings. A front fender mounted oil cooler with electric fan, thermostat and stainless steel lines is installed. A 3 position fire suppression system is installed with points under the hood, and inside the driver's compartment and engine compartment. Total weight of this car with fuel on board is only 2,063 pounds. This car is ready to race and was recently sorted at the SCCA Daytona driver's school. It was very impressive. I took it there to get its log book and tech sticker so now all it needs is a driver. I have over $65,000 invested in this car. Please see the specifications sheet. I spared no expense for safety and performance. It is a beautiful car!

I wonder what class it would be competitve in though Jason. At least for HSR it falls in no-mans land between the 2.5 and 2.99 cars. Not sure on the ITS SCCA classification. PCA racing it woudl be dead meat too...

Sure is sweet though. Absolutely gorgeous.

It includes the extremely rare "Manual" injection system. Mechanical perhaps?

Why would you build and then sell right away?

In no particular order

1. Ran out of $, borrowed to pay bill
2. Ran car once and was outclassed
3. Ran car once and was scared s-less
4. Wife saw the bill
5. Wife saw the bill AND served papers on you

How did he invest $65K and still only have SC brakes, weltmeister bushings and a few other less costly upgrades? Must have been a bunch for labor, I would have figured it would all be ERP or Smart Racing for that kind of bucks. It is pretty and still only $15K, I wonder how much the wife would get in the divorce

I don't mind the SC brake issue... Heck the cars under 2100lb.. SC's were 26-2800lb cars.

Lets see, (65000 invested x .10 on each dollar invested) =$6500 so, about 15K sounds right to me.. Maybe he'd trade for an SC?

Sure looks pretty though.
