10w30 in the Jeep all year and 15w50 in the carrera all year, Mobil 1 full syn all around.

The option is to remove your engine when the temps drop below 50F. 8)

the other day i was considering how nice it would be if i could "switch off" the fan so the motor had a *chance* at reaching operating temps... then i'm sure i'd regret it

You could always do what the old 365 racers used to do and hook the fan belt pulley up to an electric clutch. They did it to get that much more HP out of those little engines. The engine would be OK for a bit but you'd probably fry your alternator first. But you'd warm up fast, so hey..
