Hey Collin- Not as well as I wanted. With the 245 hoosiers on the car, I had huge amounts of grip in the front!!! Unfortunately, the balance is pretty upset right now. If you couldn't tell from the video, the car was pretty much loose everywhere, and couldn't put any power down on corner exit! While it was a hoot to drive, it definitely was not "fast"...

How am I going to fix it?
1: I NEED to get an LSD transmission in the car! Without one, every time I come out of the corners I'm giving up time to those pesky little Miatas

2: 15x8 rear wheels! Currently, I am running all four wheels on 15x7 Phone Dials. Originally, I didn't think this would be a problem, and allow me to swap front/back after every event. But, it looks like I'll give that up for some more contact patch...

3: Front swaybar- Hopefully a larger front swaybar will help tame it a little bit as well... If anything, it'll allow me to actually make adjustments with my rear bar that I already have!

The GOOD news however- The car will walk all over a miata in a straight line if I get a good launch! Average 60ft times were .2 seconds faster than the first place guys in my class! The power is there, now I just gotta work on matching it with some GRIP!!!

Oh, one final thing
Weight on the scales with 3/4 tank of gas- 2894 pounds(fatpig)

So most of the Miata drivers are comparable with each other (and you) as far as driving ability?

#2 - Porsche didn't offer a 15x8 for a 944 after 1986. Not sure if that would be a rules issue. The only 8" wheel for a 944 after 1986 (1987+ are late offset wheels which you would need) is an 8x16. Not sure if trading for width is better than a gearing advantage (and weight savings) of a 15".

Weight: I am sure you know, but run with less fuel. 944 tank is approx 20 gallons. You should be able to run in the 1/3 to 1/2 full range and not suffer any starvation.. plus you'd save about 50lbs. (10 gal x approx 6lb?)

If your car has a sunroof, I am told the roof panel is approx 19lbs.. off the top of the car no less, so if you can run without it, I'd try it. Might also give a touch more headroom clearance if thats another challenge for you.

Hmm.. that might be a problem. I'll have to write a letter for clarification. I have a set of 16" wheels, but they have my rain/street tires on them(RA-1s).

Weight- Yup, at the event before this one I I started with a quarter tank of gas, and kept running till I hit fuel starvation. On Sunday, when I knew there wasn't much hope for catching the front runners, I decided to run a full tank to see what difference there was in the balance. Honestly, I didn't notice any difference at all... LOL

Sunroof- It's something that was discussed at the event. I decided to run with it in, because some believed it may contribute a little to the rigidity of the car. After the event, I'm fairly certain it doesn't do a dog-gone thing... It'll be out of the car every event from now on...
