in-car from the Pro Solo

So for my afternoon runs at FedEx, I pointed the camera inside... There are four runs total- feel free to fast forward between runs since i can't figure out on youtube how to trim in the middle... Enjoy!

WTF happened at 3:38?

Lt. Dan 04-16-2012 01:53 PM

The rear stepped out pretty quick. I have a bad habit when that happens of letting the steering wheel spin to correct itself, instead of trying the keep up "manually".

Who says that's a bad habit (at autox atleast)? - I haven't seen the video - blocked at work.

In Car, WDCR Pro Solo 04/15/12 - YouTube

Hey Dan, we met on Friday. How'd you do???

Lt. Dan 04-16-2012 04:33 PM

Hey Collin- Not as well as I wanted. With the 245 hoosiers on the car, I had huge amounts of grip in the front!!! Unfortunately, the balance is pretty upset right now. If you couldn't tell from the video, the car was pretty much loose everywhere, and couldn't put any power down on corner exit! While it was a hoot to drive, it definitely was not "fast"...

How am I going to fix it?
1: I NEED to get an LSD transmission in the car! Without one, every time I come out of the corners I'm giving up time to those pesky little Miatas

2: 15x8 rear wheels! Currently, I am running all four wheels on 15x7 Phone Dials. Originally, I didn't think this would be a problem, and allow me to swap front/back after every event. But, it looks like I'll give that up for some more contact patch...

3: Front swaybar- Hopefully a larger front swaybar will help tame it a little bit as well... If anything, it'll allow me to actually make adjustments with my rear bar that I already have!

The GOOD news however- The car will walk all over a miata in a straight line if I get a good launch! Average 60ft times were .2 seconds faster than the first place guys in my class! The power is there, now I just gotta work on matching it with some GRIP!!!

Oh, one final thing
Weight on the scales with 3/4 tank of gas- 2894 pounds(fatpig)

So most of the Miata drivers are comparable with each other (and you) as far as driving ability?
