For reals.. He actually wasn't lying this time. I was there for the postmortem tire pressure check and it was 38 on three corners but the right rear was at 46.

Now I wasn't at the wheel to verify that was the "primary" cause, but it certainly puts it in the plausible category.

Either way it gave the newbies a show.. Probably won't see some of them back.

Interesting... High pressure in a rear tire = oversteer, yet he understeered off the track...

curious...

Either way I guess it is operator error, though

+1. I looked for an oversteer correction that went wrong, but see none. I suppose too much right pedal too soon. Its a common problem with n00bs as is blaming the equipment.

Maybe they were 888s and the R rear was the only one at appropriate pressure, the others all being much too low...

Uh, no. The pressures were given above... Peter, pick your head UP for once, please!

Yes, dummy, and many have said that the 16" 888's like pressures in the mid-40s, which would make my statement correct. If the 888s really did like pressures in the mid-40s (not my personal experience with them, but I never did find a pressure the rears did well at), and if he had been running 888s (which he wasn't). But that was what I meant. Sheesh...
