Yes already done. I plan on picking some of many better drivers brains on droving a sub 23 lb per HP car if I can sucker them into the right seat.
Quote:
The pass seat is a standard Recaro that is set at a slight angle to the right for fitment next to the beer keg and added leg room. there are 4 welded in sockets in the tub for a seat base. The base stays on the seat so there are only 4 large easy to get to bolts in and out. The 5 point harness will just stay in place and get tied down when not in use. The seat systems are similar but not the same or dead equal . Equal enough for Potomac DE will have to be determined. |

If I remember correctly, it's from a Bill Cosby standup routine about being freaked out by a monster movie and then a wine-o while running home.

Thanks to a loving wife that “Just wants me to get it finished already” and has gone to great lengths to create shop time for me I have been busy on the car this fall. Fiberglass, safety systems, dash, controls, ,linkages and drive train are all mostly done.
The wheels were a frustrating 10 month long drawn out saga best saved for sometime when I feel like putting myself in a bad mood which means never. They are the Jeff Alton 17 inch rims, 9 and 11, They are light! I forgot to weight them before mounting tires but they are in the hand light. I had them made with the centers unfinished, fresh off the CNC. A cleaning and a clear coat is all they got. The rims are polished. I might go full black out or frost them in the blast cabinet later. Figuring out the tires and getting them the other hand has been the antidote to the long wheel frustration thanks to Paul at Radial Tire. We track rats are all lucky to have Paul and Radial tire nearby! Right now I have 4 different size tires mounted up just for test fitting thanks to Paul. I called Paul and discussed with him what I had in hand. He did some thinking and checking and then had me bring the wheels in after I measured some clearances with the rims on the car. He mounted up some of his picks and sent me home to try them on. Looks like 245 up front and 315 in the rear will work. I could go a bit wider in front and back but Paul is wondering about getting enough heat in them with a stock 3.6 in a light car. If I put more motor in the car later I can go wider with the existing fiberglass. There are about 100 things left on the list, alignment being one of the biggies. I roughed it out for camber to check the tires for now. I will dial it in with strings. Someone told me HBL does alignments for PCA members cheap so after I am done it off to HBL for Bobby to check my work and fix what I messed up. There are about 250 things I could have, or in hindsight, should have done better. I guess “track ready” and “done” are two different things. It will never be done. Please don't tell Teresa. Windshield is clear and not polychromatic. I left a filter on the camera and it plays games with the plastic. The crew at work. Girl in brown hair "No, the front wheel goes here next to the puppies" Blond girl. "I would put the puppies next to the blue and pink sunflowers" The boy. "When do the plans say I get to use a power tool?" |

The pics are nice, but it looks even better in the flesh. The overall look is purposeful, but its all those beautiful little details that really make this car unique. Oh, and the wheels were worth the wait [and the angst!!]. The billet machined centers and massive outer rim halves are perfect.
Its getting close to SEG time after four long years of work
