Tore down for the 30K this afternoon.

I got the oil out, blower out, exhaust dropped, engine surrounds & valve covers off, plugs out, plug wires all disconnected at both ends, ONE distributor off and she's sitting in the Z1 position for the valve adjustment in the morning. I can't seem to get the one screw on the bottom of the damned second distro to come loose. It's almost strinpped and I'm not quite sure what to do to get it off. I shot it with some liquid wrench and I've let it sit for a while. I sure hope that sucker comes loose or I'll be busting that second distributor out. Thoughts?

Wish me luck with the rest of the job!

No sooner asked than answered...I pulled the dizzys and..

...used an impact driver to loosen it up. Now that I got the dizzy out, looks like I should just go ahead and rebuild it, huh? :)

might as well  BTW, how long did it take you to get all the stuff off?

Hmmm...that kind of depends on how you look at it. I had a few breaks, so I would say maybe about 4 hours of solid work. It's not too bad except for all of the damned bolts & nuts. By the time you finish getting the valve covers off, you will have basically worn out a 10mm socket. :)

Try to tighnten it. This often of loads the threads and then the screw will back out. Use good steady pressure and don't let the screwdriver slip, also make sure you are using a good one. Old screwdrivers always wind up screwing me and not the fixture!

Thanks, but I already got it. Once I pulled the distributor and had better access, it was no problem. I used an impact driver to loosten it and it popped right off.
