Your heart's in the right place.....but in a fofo, the clutch is attached at the motor. Transaxle is at the other end of the torque tube. Totally separate jobs...unfortunately. :(

YGM Brad. I've got an option via Dave Derecola (944 Cup). He's pretty shocked that a transmission would go at 72,000 miles.

He probably is not aware of the massive amount of power your motor is putting out!

My gas pedal has been modified. It goes to 11.

(PS: A 951 t-axle has lower ratios (e.g. 3rd gear is 1.400 versus 1.458 in n/a). Does that make it a no-way for an n/a?)

Tubos have lots more touque so higher ratio's let them loaf at high way speed and get more mph at the top. '44 trans are $$$$ to rebuild (like all of them) so unless you intend to keep the car salvage is likely best. If you have a line on a cheap Turbo trans you might be able to flip it and come out ahead on a NA one.

I've identified a 944 n/a unit with limited slip. $1,500 installed.

If its out of a 951 (944 Turbo) they are geared a bit lower, and the NA's may not have enough grunt to use effectively. Just something to be aware of.....

I thought all the "grunt" from a 44 came from the owner pulling his wallet out.:D (remember I used to own one I can pick)

The grunt is the sound we make as we pass cars with another 100 hp on track.
