Ceramic pucks contact the pads and sit on the pistons. They come loose over time due to heat breaking down the adhesive.

Do not use impact wrench to remove or install the caliper mounting bolts and use a small amount of anti-seize on the bolts when installing.

Not the same as the 996 as pads are removable from the top without removing caliper.

Thanks for the info. I ordered the rear pads and caliper bolts on Wednesday, should be able to do this job Memorial Day Weekend.
