What a horrible thing, and a great loss. Jan was hugely helpful to me at The Glen one year when I was losing a rear wheel bearing in the middle of the weekend. He said "those are really beefy - feel free to drive your sessions, and then drive home with little worry of a problem--just try to ignore the noise." Although Trak Ratt drove home around the same time in case I needed a trailer (of course, that was the trip he got 2 flat tires on the way home!), Jan turned out to be correct and a few weeks later Trak Ratt helped me change that bad bearing with his Sir Tools tool (which is now my Sir Tools tool).

Jan was always friendly and helpful, and just a nice guy. I can't imagine what Dirk is going through and never want to know, but my heart goes out to Dirk and Connie.
