Trying to squeeze 16x7's with 205/55's under the rear of my 1970 911T (narrow body). I need to add some neg camber due to rubbing on the fenders.
Is this relatively easy to do? I would like to play with the adjustment until it works right, then take it and have it aligned....again.

Any tips on this? Wayens 101 book suggests leaving this to the pro's but I believe this is really just to ensure they get it even and can more accurately measure the exact camber change. I'm really just looking to play with the adjustments to see what it takes to make these tires fit.

I am wondering if 16x6s would fix the problem as it may be due to the offset of the wheels (or the old 951 fuchs fix, maybe). Anyway, stock 15 fuchs w/205s fit under a narrow body 911.

As for the camber adjustment, what I have been told is that there isn't much to play with. I have never tried it though and considering how much 911s love negative camber in the rear it would seem that there would be a decent amount.

It’s not rocket science but aligning any car requires good equipment or patience. At least 911 don’t require “special tools” like ‘44s. I lack both so let the “experts” do mine. But the process is relatively easy. You just need to follow the instruction in most factory or aftermarket manuals. If you don’t have at least a Haynes Manual shame on you.

205-60s on 7x15 don’t fit the back of our ’71 even with the max camber (at the current ride height). Has to do with “hand built” differences side to side, just like in the front. They really are different side to side. If you are happy with the current alignment you might want to try some lower profile tyres before messing with the alignment.
