Default Tail light lens: ROW vs. US

Due to a crack in a tail light lens that needs replacing, I was thinking of changing them out for the ROW (Red/White/Amber) covers. I wanted to know if this was a smiple swap of the lens and seal or are there differences in the lighting.

TIA

Mike

I was thinking about doing that for my car, more for different look than anything else. Should only be unscrew it from the body and install new. Let me know how it looks when you are finished.

I do know there is some difference. My Row tailights had some surgery done to them when the car was brought over. I think they added a bulb and a sheild between two bulbs. I'd like to see the two lenses to see what the reason is.

My right lens has a crack which one of yours broke? Are the euro lenses less $$$?

Less than a 3 min. job. Just don't over toghten the screws or they will crack your new lenses.

Default Here's what the Euro tail lights look like

I have them on my car, as stated above the lens swap takes just a few minutes. And they do crack if you over tighten... don't ask me how I know.

For those wondering what they look like, here's a picture...

Mike, I am going to order the parts fairly shortly and will post a before/after picture when the parts get here. I too like the look but quite frankly, during the day, the red turn signals are difficult to see so that is my "main" impetus or justification. I am just happy that the 89's have the "Libby" light on top.

Bill, it is my left lens that has a small piece missing from the bottom right corner where it meets up with the center "Porsche" bar. From what I have seen the prices are slightly higher for the ROW's that the USA's.

Mid-America has one for 199.99/pair (reproduction) and one for 99.99 LH and 119.99 RH (doesn't specify OEM or repro). The (mind you small) picture in the catalogue for the repros doesn't quite look right at the black strip. Performance has them at 69.95 each (repro) but the picture of them shows that they do not have a black strip and therefore they don't look right. Pelican has them for 103.45 each (doesn't specify OEM or repro) and no picture is available for the ROW's. I assume the dealerships will be even more

Am I missing any suppliers Can anyone clear up where to get the OEM parts Lucky, yours look right and very good, where did you get them

Pari, don't worry, brown is a nice color as well But before you go there again, my car is “Stone Grey Metallic”....
