Default Dash recovering of early dash, anyone done it locally?

Ok, the dash on the 912 is in great shape, but the covering was all nasty. I have made a pattern as the covering came off all in one piece. All I want to do is either find the correct material (speak up if you have a good source of thin vinyl that is close to original), or send it to someone who has done this before.

I am willing to try the recovering, but all the vinyl I can find is too thick and it puckers up when I put it on the dash, I need something stretchy and thin so it will hold the shape of the dash.....

thanks
Kevin

I'm in the same boat so I'll provide the bump.

Along those lines, anyone know where I can find some black alcantara fabric?

I'd like to get rid of my dash cap. I have no idea what lurks underneath it. One of these days it'll get done.

Oh no, I'm not that brave. I'm keeping my dash cap. Actually, that is the piece that I want to cover to make it nicer which means that I will take a look at my actual dash -- briefly. I'm sure the dash is a wreck, and to fix/cover that, I hear you have to take out the windshield for a proper install. I'm not ready for that. The cap comes off easier so I'll tackle that.
