OldTee has one HoF thread
Default Swap meet bomb

Arrived at 8:57 one hour after it was to have started. Met maliase eyeball to eyeball and it is not pretty when you are expecting to paw through tons of parts. Suppositon is that ebay and internet sales have doomed parts swaps. Hershey was down this year too. Left after a cup of warm coffee and two donut holes. Complete waste of time.

John, it wasn't a complete waste of time. You had a beautiful day to drive your 911.

Well it was a good reason to get out and drive.

Some of bumps on the Baltimore beltway were a bit much though. I got airborne on one of them. No kidding. Maybe I need new shocks.

My buddy Jim drove up with me. Here is a picture to liven up this thread!

Did you have a few injectors unplugged? 8)

Sad to hear the swap meet was a dud. The past few years were slow, but it sounds like this year was even worse. I understand the E-bay effect, but it has to be more than that. Carlisle is still full for their events, people from all over attend.

Generally I think it's tough to have a swap meet this time of year, just too much going on. And it's usually cold. Spring is ideal, but Hershey has that covered. Any thoughts?

I'm hoping Hershey was down this year more due to Rennsport than eBay. After all, it was a lot bigger the year before, and eBay should have had the same effect, right? We'll see this year whether this is wishfull thinking or not.

I personally was somewhat disappointed. I went with cash money in hand ready to spend and there wasn't even so much as a baseball cap that I could buy for my 3 yr old who was more interested in throwing rocks on the empty parking lot below the dealership. Had a great time going to and from, got a chance to spend some time with my little boy and play with car. Great day for a honk down the highway!!
