Default Dyno for Charity- Report

After a great tech inspection held at Tischer, Ted, Charlie, and I headed over to Curry's for Dyno for Charity. Both events were very well ran. Great hospitality.

Overall I was very pleased with the power both of my cars put down.

Figuring drivetrain loss the 911 should be around 225 hp at the flywheel:

Short Movie:

Figuring drivetrain loss the Mustang should be around 302 hp at the flywheel:

Josh's 930:

Some cars in attendance:

This Kremer put down 355 to the rear wheels!!!

I managed to stop by with the family. My daughter fell asleep in the back of my 996 so my wife decided to sit with her while my son and I toured the Porsches and BMWs.

What a great collection! I'd post pics but 99% of them have my smiling son (thanks for the lollipops guys ) in them. The Kremer was gorgeous and 87turbolook911 your cab sure caught our attention! 'tis a beauty. We watched as you pulled out. The green 914-6 pulled out while we were there too- stunning.

That early 911 at OG was stunning too. A slate grey 968 (hood vents) parked next to me- gorgeous. Listening to the exhaust notes has convinced me to get a custom exhaust as my next mod. That metallic black/natural 996 turbo sure caught my attention as did the turbo on display by AWE Tuning. LOVED the cf wing.

My wife wants me to bring her best friend to the next event- she's single, and with all the "great looking guys with taste to match" she cannot go wrong.

Great time! Next time I look forward to participating.

Fun day!!! Curry's put on a great event, their guys were haulin a$$ all day to make sure everyone got a chance on the dyno. I was pleased with my numbers since I never really had specific paper work on the engine rebuild from Stoddard. 118hp at the wheels, so about 135 at the crank, what I would expect for a 2.0E with webers. My power curve looks exactly like Vu's (minus 75-80hp):

Nice Lotus as well:

Chronos - Thanks for the kind words about my car....

Do you have a chip etcetera? Other wise 10% drive train loss is pretty good (stock ’87 is 217 hp). We had Linda’s stock ’87 done a few years ago & it pulled 180 hp. About the same temp & humidity as today.

Just a Steve W. chip, euro-premuffler, Bursch exhaust, and K&N cone filter. All else is bone stock.

What an awsome p-car day! Tischer always puts on a great tech inspection. Who can say no to free omlets. Them off to Curry's for some serious eye candy. I didn't sign up in time for a dyno run. I really wanted to see if I gained anything since the rebuild.

I had a nice surprise at Curry's yesterday. Durring my tech inspection at Tischer they found a huge nail I'd picked up in my right rear tire. No drama, I figured I'd get it done durring the week sometime. Taylor had mentioned a "pro patch", a patch and plug combined. While I was at Curry's I asked if they had the patches and someone they could spare to put one on. Without hesitation they told me to pull my car in and they'd take care of it immediately. I watched as the guy took great care in working on my car and wheel. No scratches what so ever, He even wiped the wheel down once he was finish. Once the car was back down on all fours, I asked if the work ticket was in the office. He told me not to worry about it. The guy spent a half an hour on my car, did an outstanding job, and wrote it off. "Hey, it's a promotional event, don't sweat it" he said.
This is the way you earn customers. I would like to thank Curry's and the guy who did the work on my wheel. Both top notch in my book.

It was nice meeting with the Dorki's at Tischer.
CMartin it was a pleasure to finally meet you , let me know if you are ever in my neck of the woods . Sorry I had to run off, I had to get teched and I was holding the line up.
Vu, great report with pics 8) ! I'm impressed with both your dyno results.
Ted, thats funny how you were instantly able to get the tire plugged for free . When I had a nail in my tire in Gainesville, I went to a Goodyear Tire store first. They said they were so busy that the only option I had was to leave the 911 overnight and then they could plug it the next day. I began walking out at that point....Talk about service.

Great P-car weekend guys. Good to see you guys at Tischer. I wish I could have made it to the Curry's, looks like there was some eye candy on display.
