Default Need some pic's of SC charcoal cannister

Hello All-

The last thing, I think, to install before the motor goes in is the charcoal cannister. I took this this apart so long ago I cant remember how it goes back together. I started looking at engine drop pics but thought some one might have a reference handy.

The 'big' hose loops around to the airbox, small hose goes back to the tank. I cant remember the cannister's orientation or if there are any pieces I am missing. That's what I get for taking so long.

Any help is much appreciated!

Chris

Chris,

Awesome job on getting things back together!!

This is the best pic I could find. It needed a little lightening and zooming to see the canister. Hope it helps.

Strange, mine was in the left wheel well strapped to the tube that holds the wire that opens th rear deck.

Thanks guy, much appreciated!

Motor is in the car, only need to connect the starter (of course I cant remember which wire goes where), attach the rear bumper and adjust the clutch. Oh, and there is 1 vacuum line left that I cant find a place for. Hopefully I can find a diagram to help me out with that.

I'm getting close.

On the starter, the big wire is obvious. The yellow comes from the ignition switch this is the power that closes the relay inside the starter. This I belive goes to the terminal that has two flat male connectors sticking out of it. (One is for this wire and the second spare one is for connecting a remote start button. At least that is what I use it for.) The other wire goes to the remaining flat male connector. This wire provides power to open the cold start valve. (It only has power on it when the ignition is turned to start and the relay inside the starter pulls in.)

Can some one confirm this for me or bash me in the head for sticking my foot in my mouth.

On the hose, I don't have my diagrams with me but you might look on Pelican Parts. They have some, but not all parts diagrams which might help.

What is the other end of the hose connected to?

Thanks for the info. The wrinkle is I dont have a bosch starter, so the terminals are the same. There are only 2 options for the power leads, guys it will be trial and error.

I vacuum line of one of the cloth braided ones coming from the back of the engine to something on the left, drivers, side. I replaced all the old hoses with new, making sure to get the length correct, but dont have a clue which direction it went.

Better look at a diagram.
Is twards the front or back of the car?
On the throttle body there are as many as 4 connection points. 2 above the throttle plate and 2 below. 2 of the hoses would go to the distributer.
One would go to the Warm Up Regulator.
I think One would go to the Vacuume limiter and probably one to the charcoal canister unless that goes to the airbox.

Mine is a Euro car which is a little different.

Did you look at the parts diagram yet?
