Default Old Fuel Lines

Nothing new here but this specific issue is a first for me. If you have a 80's Carrera and havent lately, please inspect the fuel lines in the engine compartment. This one was from an engine out of a car so simpler to inspect. The fittings didnt fail but the hose wasnt flexible. I twisted it as little as you can imagine and it snapped like a twig.

Too many of these cars burned because of these lines leaking. Best to remove and inspect but at least tap on them and check for condition of the rubber. Pressure regular from the filter, then the rail under the intake and again after the damper.

Seeing this so bad spooked me

excellent reminder. rubber is not forever. "original" is not good. fuel/brake/coolant hoses are regular maint items.
