Default A little project completed for the 1982 911

One thing was that one of the tabs that holds the rubber strap for the air filter cover was missing for quite a while. Back than I just put in a bolt to hold that side, but I did not like that solution.

Now was a good time to fix the tab. I made one from metal and bolted that on and used a lock nut, so it cannot come lose.

I modified a spare cover, I had. I cut off the long snorkle and used part of it for the other side, so there are 2 intake openings for better air flow.

I also installed a new sound insulation pad back when I had the engine and transmission out during the suspension overhaul, seven years ago. The pad is still in great shape, but I didn't like how it hangs down between the tabs. I made a 3 piece hold-up system, 3D printed. Just need to bend the tabs open, insert the 3 pieces and bend back, done, and it looks much better.

Happy Holidays to all
Engelbert
