Default Window Tint

Anyone know of a place that does window tinting...and does very good work? Also, are there Tint shops that I should avoid? I'm in Manassas - thanks!

Similarly, does anyone know of a place that will REMOVE window tinting and, of course, do so reliably?

I always thought you just soaked it in soapy water and it would come off...
You may have to make some slices like when you remove wallpaper.

My wife "surprised" me for Christmas 2002, after listening to me complain about the summer heat, with LA Tint from Atlantic Sun Control Inc., 9055 Liberia Ave, Manassas, (703) 631-8536. They did a decent job and they also guarantee their work. She paid $300 for shading 50/35 premium tint. I think they might jack up the price when they see it's a Porsche so you might try getting a quote over the phone before visiting. Needless to say, she's not allowed to touch the car anymore or I might end up with some cup holders and fuzzy pink dice.

For those willing to travel to Laurel, Maryland, we have a shop next to us that does excellent tinting work. He's been in the business since late 80's. For a p-car he'll probably charge about $200 for all windows with lifetime guarantee on the film. He has all shades and film types.

For either, I suggest Jeff Gluchowski/Action Tint in Fredericksburg--540-548-8113, 804-357-5253.

Charlie--

Jeff G's family lives in Manassas--he might be able to do the job here and combine it with a visit. They are good friends of mine. BTW, where in Manassas are you? PM if you don't want to post publicly. I'm a lawyer--I can keep a secret.

I called LA Tint to get an estimate and they quoted me $500! The same for VA Tint on Gabe in Manassas! However, I did get a 270 quote from Chuck at Tint Specialists off of Edsall Road. He's been in the business for 15 years and said that Porsches aren't the easiest cars to tint, but he sees no reason to charge an exorbitant price simply because it's a Porsche. If anyone is interested call Chuck at 703.941.8468. I'm going to see him Friday for a final quote.

I'm in Manassas Park.
