Default Weekend DE Recap

Oh where oh where should we begin ??????

First off the thank-you's:
1) Mr. Tony Kelly gets the weekend generosity award for letting us use the Athol EZ-UP. With-out the shade that it provided we all would have cooked!
2) Kelley (Marc's wife) for delivering some Popeye's chicken-n-biscuts for lunch today ... sure was good but it definately added an element of risk right before heading out for the afternoon sessions
3) To my fellow Dorki for making it such a great weekend and being able to share the quality paddock time that the Potomac schedule affords us. Pictures I'm sure will be posted later but just imagine 10 of us side-by-side in the paddock.

Now onto the I-can't believe its:
1) the weather was hotter then anything we had previously driven in. I think the majority of us pushed our cars many times to 250 on the temp scale.
2) even at those temps our cars willingly took everything we gave them.

And finally, while I'm not going to spill the beans by my count there were 3 promotions this weekend to Blue. Sorry if I mis-counted but I'll let each of them step forward and bask in the limelight

All in all it was a great weekend and I look forward to the next track event.

Hmm. Sounds like lots of engine droppin' action this winter!

I concur! It was a great weekend, even with the 90+ ambient and 250+ oil temps. Seeing and hanging out with everyone is what it's all about. I drank about 3 liters of water, I'm still thirsty, dead tired, sun burned and have the worst farmers tan ever, but cant wait to do it again.

BTW: My favorite part of the weekend is watching Marc A fly by me under the bridge, then see him 3-wheel through 10 It's amazing what they can do with hydraulics now a days . Man, wish I had a cam in the car.

Thanks for the good weekend all.........

Great event guys! I'll post the pic's I took when I can get the energy to unpack the digicam.

Thanks again Tony, you saved us this weekend! So, who's the first one to install the electric fan on the cooler?

Great meeting you guys. I would have hung out at the tent longer, but it was my first Potomac event and I was usually wandering the grounds like a kid in a candy shop. I am glad the track dried during that last blue session.

Thanks to Tony for the killer ride in Red. I love 10/10ths!!!!!

Boy am I tired. And apparently my car is too. When I got home, I noticed tranny fluid had dripped onto my trailer -- at least more than I'm comfortable with. I'll have to watch it over the next few weeks to see if it continues to do so on my garage floor.

And after seeing Marc's cornering speeds (while watching his rear bumper fading into the distance), I'm strongly considering the investment in track rubber. My old SP8000s are nearing the wear bars

Many thanks to all you guys from me, the FNG (with a stinkin 944, no less!) from Seattle. You are a very hospitable group. Being bald as a cueball, I especially appreciated Tony's gracious loan of the tent.

Ditto to all the above. What a great first DE experience! I had a blast hanging out with the crew and learning from everyone. Being the newest greenie, I have a lot to learn.

Special thanks to all for helping me get my new Hawk brake pads on in record time!

Chris......I'm still smiling from the five laps we "shared". Kelley got some pretty good pics, which I'll post later.

And BIG thanks to my instructors, Bob Novus and Mark Francis. They were excellent.
