Default WTB 17x3.5 Boxster spare tire

I was wondering if anyone has one of the small donut 17x3.5 spares laying around.
Maybe the foam insert with jack and bolt tie down sleeve.

I’m thinking of a project for the 914 frunk to allow for a horizontal spare and oil cooler too.

Nathan

I don’t know if you have see one installed but a 15” or even a 16” space saver spare will sit vertically on the fire wall in front of the gas tank and leave room for a frunk oil cooler.

Not my image, ripped from the net

I know, I have a set of 5 951 spares, but I’d like to keep the spare horizontal with a cover to look stock.
Stock location is also part of the crumple zone.

I plan to remove the frunk body donuts and have the coooler air exit from there via airbox and mount the spare above it. Just an idea currently, but it should work.

There's seems to be a bunch available on eBay for $100 +/-.

I would guess there's some available due to SpecBoxster builds. Have you checked with the local junkyards and shops that support racer builds (Intersport, SSI, etc)?

I have a 986 donut spare, complete with foam insert, jack, handle, cover and mounting bolt & nut.

Send me a PM and we can discuss.

I kindda botched a deal with Stephen for 3 years (schedule never meshed), but still looking for a good Boxster spare/toolbox/cover setup. Let me know if anyone still has one taking up space in their garage.
